Our Meat & Seafood Department

Meat tastes best when it’s local. That’s why Nature’s Food Patch is committed to sourcing and providing local meat from Clearwater and surrounding communities. We offer organic and grass-fed meat, with transparent sourcing and labeling so you can find exactly the right meat for your diet and preferences. Whenever possible, we prioritize providing organic meat and poultry and sustainably sourced fish and seafood that local residents can feel good about eating.

What We Offer

When you shop at Nature’s Food Patch, you get meat and seafood that’s been raised and processed humanely.

Our meats, poultry & seafood are always free of:

  • nitrates or nitrites
  • artificial ingredients
  • preservatives

Our meats are from animals that are raised, transported & processed humanely. They are NEVER:

  • treated with antibiotics
  • administered supplemental hormones
  • fed any animal by-products

What’s the difference between grass-fed and free-range meat? The grass-fed meat distinction means the meat animal primarily ate grass, hay, and other forage, but it may have had a grain-supplemented diet. (This is compared to grass-finished meat animals, which graze on grasses and forages for their entire adult lives.) “Free-range” refers to access to the outdoors, and free-range meat animals have had some degree of continuous access to the outdoors. For ethical shoppers, both grass-finished and free-range meats offer benefits that other classifications of meat do not.

Why Choose Our Meat & Seafood Department

Today’s consumers have more access to information about meat and seafood than ever before, but this information can be incredibly overwhelming and difficult to navigate. Our meat and seafood department works hard to research sources and suppliers of meat to find ethical suppliers of local meat and fisheries that offer transparent supply chains and wild-caught seafood. We take our responsibility to curate sources of meat and seafood seriously so that, by working together, we can build a strong partnership between consumers and companies that value sustainability, good meat-raising practices, and accessible meat for people who want to cook high-quality meals at home.

When you visit Nature’s Food Patch, our meat and seafood team can talk to you about:

  • Different cuts of meat for different recipes
  • How to best assess the quality of individual meats and meat processing companies
  • Resources for wild-caught fish and sustainable seafood
  • Seasonal ingredients and local foods to accompany meat dishes
  • And more

Looking for ethical and high-quality meat on a budget? Nature’s Food Patch also offers Thursday sales on ground beef and monthly house specials. Have questions about our meat and seafood selection? Contact our team today to learn more.
